Striking fascinators and gloriously-made Derby hats sat atop well coifed ladies on the arms of dapper gentlemen.
That line could’ve described any great Derby event in history and Louisville Central Community Center was determined to make its mark this year with the Oaks Day Brunch on May 3rd.
Catering the event was Old Walnut Streets newest tenant, Dasha Barbour’s Southern Bistro which will have its grand opening Wednesday, June 5th.
Donations and proceeds from the event support the building of the Grand Lyric Theater, destined to be an important part of the development of Muhammad Ali Blvd\’s Arts and Cultural District.
The entertainment of the day was a Michael Jackson Tribute featuring artists such as Jason Clayborn, Sheryl Rouse, Johnathan Johnson and of course, the very talented LCCC Theatre Troupes. To bring the celebrations to a close the entire room was invited to join in singing “We are the World.”
