New LCCC strategic plan helps children, families and businesses to thrive.

2018 marked the end of an era at Louisville Central Community Centers, Inc. – the sun setting of our 2015 to 2018 agency strategic plan. Major elements of this plan had been in place since 2001, the time during which LCCC launched its mission of “advancing self-reliance”, while striving to achieve a vision of transformational community change through a dream called “Old Walnut Street”.

LCCC’s accomplishments during this period are indeed historic. Demonstrated by thousands of children and family achieving “self-reliance” outcomes to innovative repurposing of abandoned industrial properties into becoming a state-of-the-art cultural, commercial and family services center, to the mobilization of an economic renaissance to revitalize west Louisville after decades of disinvestment and decline. While the accomplishments under LCCC’s previous strategic plan are too numerous to elaborate upon here, our agency takes great pride in understanding the Old Walnut Street vision is now a reality; and, a strong foundation has be laid upon which continue our quest to create conditions that sustain an improved quality of life for economically disadvantaged children and families within Russell, nearby neighborhoods

During the fourth quarter of 2018, LCCC’s board and leadership embarked upon a process to develop a new agency strategic plan to guide the organization over the next three to five years. Our process was informed by organizational developments experts, led by Louisville’s Center for Non-Profit Excellence, with the support of the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities and Uhlich Children’s Advantage Network (UCAN).
