Louisville Central Community Centers, Inc. (LCCC) is seeking an individual with experience in organizing and implementing education and social development activities that meet the developmental needs of school-age youth. Duties will include providing out-of-school time learning activities that support our STEAM Academy and Progressive Education Performance Club (PEP), providing out-of-school-time service designed to help students, grades 1 thru 12, to improve their study skills, academic performance and self-confidence, as they aspire to be college and career-ready.
Candidates must have at least one year experience working with youth in an education environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A two year college degree is desirable. The ideal candidate should possess skills necessary to achieve LCCC’s vision of:
- creating a culture of high expectation for academic performance within LCCC’s family services;
- motivating all our school-aged youth who struggle academically to strive for academic improvement; and
- recognizing, reward and celebrate student performance.
The Coordinator of Youth Education will work with students, parents/caregivers, staff, contractors and volunteers to advance LCCC’s message of high expectations and to create a culture of high performance amongst our school-aged youth and their family leaders.
Use of computer to track student academic performance and computer use as a learning tool will be part of instructional activities. Use of word processing, spreadsheets and database software is highly desirable.
This is a seasonal, part-time position with evening hours – Monday thru Thursday, 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm, 20 – 25 hours per week. Candidate must be flexible to work weekends, if necessary.
